University Level NSS Activities
-
Sadbahavana Diwas for communal
harmony was celebrated in the University campus on 18.8.2007. During the
day, the communal harmony oath was taken by the students, teaching and
non-teaching staff of the University
-
NSS pre-Republic parade was
conducted on 7.11.2006. Out of the 150 NSS volunteers who attended the
parade, one girl NSS volunteer was selected and sent to New Delhi for the
Republic Day Parade.

One
Day Leadership Training and Personality Development Programme for NSS
Volunteers was conducted on 24.01.2007 and more than 400 students and staff
benefited.

University Level, All NSS
Programme Officers Meet was held on 25.01.2007 and more than 400 students
and staff benefited.

University Level Advisory
Committee Meeting was held on 01.03.2007.

University Level Blood Donation
Camp was conducted on 28.03.2007 During this camp, about 150 units of blood
were collected and donated to the Government Hospital, Adukkamparai.

University Level
Entrepreneurship and Career Development Programme for NSS Volunteers was
conducted on 29.03.2007 and more than 400 students and staff benefited.

University Level Awareness
Programme for NSS volunteers was conducted on 30.03.2007. In the programme,
about 400 students and staff participated.

University Level Bio-diversity
Camp was conducted on 31.03.2007 for the benefit of the staff and students
of the Department of Zoology.

Special Camps numbering 102 were
successfully conducted through 102 NSS units in the adopted villages of
Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram and Cuddalore districts. It is of
special mention that the University has achieved 98% success in conducting
the special camps in the adopted rural poor villages and the duration of
each camp was 10 days.

University Level RRC Programme Officers meet was held on 19.02.2007. During
the programme, 42 RRC Programme Officers were trained to implement the HIV/
AIDS awareness programme activities in the colleges and villages.
